The short version
We set one functional cookie to remember your cookie-banner choice. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics sets three more. You can decline, and you can clear cookies at any time from your browser settings.
What’s a cookie
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. Some are essential for a site to work; others are used for analytics, preferences, or advertising.
The cookies we set
Essential (always set)
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
klg_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies | 12 months |
This is a functional cookie — without it, the cookie banner would show on every visit. It doesn’t track you.
Analytics (only set if you accept)
These are set by Google Analytics 4 when you click “Accept” in the cookie banner. If you click “Decline,” none of these are set.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Identifies unique users across sessions | 2 years |
_ga_<ID> | Persists the session state for this property | 2 years |
_gid | Identifies unique users (24-hour window) | 24 hours |
Google’s own documentation on these cookies: Google Analytics cookie usage.
Third-party (only if you interact)
Embedded videos (YouTube, Vimeo) may set cookies when you play them. These are not set on page load — only if you click play. If you never interact with an embedded video, no video cookies are set.
How to control cookies
- In-site: click “Decline” in the cookie banner to reject analytics, or clear the
klg_consentcookie to get the banner again and change your mind. - In your browser: all major browsers let you view and clear cookies for any site. Check your browser’s privacy settings.
- Globally: enable “Do Not Track” in your browser — we respect it by skipping analytics entirely.
Changes
If we add or remove cookies, we update this page. The “updated” date at the top reflects the last change.
